Me: Where are my kisses? Him: they are in your water bottle...you drank them. Me: did they taste good? Him: only the ones from me Quick events like this one are deeply meaningful and bring all the joy and love a person could ever want. Being a Dad is magical indeed!   Joy and love fills every day with these 3 balls of energy. 

Here’s a conversation my 3 year old and I had the other night.

bottle…you drank them. Me: did they taste good? Him: only the ones
from me

Quick events like this one are deeply meaningful and bring all the joy and love a person could ever want.

I miss the days of jet setting around the world. Eating out at fancy restaurants. Having my wife all to myself. Playing golf whenever I wanted to.  While I cherish these memories, I no longer cling to them. Today, I use every day as an opportunity to create new and lasting memories. My kids inspire me to become a better person and father. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to be a dad.  “Life before and life after” is a great way to frame what becoming a parent is all about. I miss the days of jet setting around the world. I too struggled to feel connected until the BIG day. The birth of your first child truly is one of those "life before and life after" events. My frustrations were significantly different, however.
